DANNY REBEL & THE KGB, from Montreal will be touring coast to coast all throughout July to support the release of their new record out on Stomp Recs. They'll be heading as far as Victoria where they'll be headlining the Victoria Ska Festival and all the way across for some Maritime dates. The band has toured the country twice in the past year, and have gone to the U.S. once and opened for the Skatalites, The Aggrolites, The Slackers.

The band is the end result of chance encounters, foggy basement apartments, random misadventures, and a genuine fascination with the oddities of life, all wrapped up in a musical package that jumps around genre boundaries faster than a squirrel in a shoebox. The Lucy Grays’ energetic mixture of electric dance pop and melodic yet heavy post-rock has been compared to everything from Arcade Fire and Wintersleep, to a bastard child of Hey Rosetta and Modest Mouse. The six piece has spent the last year playing around the HRM with the likes of Three Sheet, Jim Guthrie, The John Cohen Experimental, and fellow Berserker Lion members Minus World, Alex Cameron, and Seamus Erskine, while recording their soon to be released EP "When Pluto Was A Planet." http:// http://www.facebook.com/ https://twitter.com/ $7 at the door. 10 pm start. |
